Naturally, you want to know what kind of person you will be entrusting with such an important part of your day, the ceremony.  There are lots of celebrants out there, so why choose me?

My Values

The core of who I am
Inclusivity is at the forefront of my practice and I feel strongly that everyone should have equal opportunity to be happy, especially on one of the most important and special days on their lives! This is regardless of their race, gender identity, sexuality, religion, spirituality or level of ability. Whoever you are, I aim to create you the most wonderful, personalised ceremony that is perfect just for you. Life is to be celebrated equally in all of its variations.

But what am I actually like?

I'm all about openly being yourself and proud of it!
I am a thoughtful and reflective person who tends to look at things from every angle. Friends and family describe me as being very kind, caring and approachable. I like people to feel comfortable in my presence and so I always aim to create around me a relaxed, genuine and accepting environment that feels like a safe space in which you can always openly be yourself. Despite being relaxed and friendly, I am always professional as I am being employed to provide an important service for your special occasion. I am a creative person and love to make beautiful things; crafts, sounds, stories and most especially wonderful moments in time!

My Background

What are my credentials to write and conduct your ceremony?
I studied with the Academy of Modern Celebrancy to learn about the history and laws over time of weddings and naming ceremonies, ceremony rituals, how to write an excellent script and how to conduct a ceremony. Prior to this I gained many skills that naturally transfer to being a celebrant. I have a background in working in school classrooms, amateur dramatics and live action role play!
I first performed in front of an audience at the age of 3 when I sang a solo of Little Donkey to a hall full of people in a Christmas concert. This love of performing continued with my local amateur theatre groups, captivating audiences from the stage in many shows, from musicals to panto to Bram Stoker's Dracula.
Classroom management involved the (sometimes near impossible) task of holding the attention of a room full of teenagers to keep them engaged with a science lesson, or herding 4-5 year olds from playground to classroom without any going astray so I could teach them phonics!
No two performances nor two school days are ever the same, in a similar fashion to how no two ceremonies are ever the same. Apart from the fact that I never repeat a ceremony script (each one is bespoke to you), the involvement of those present on the day can have a big impact on the best prepared ceremony plan! Whether that deviation comes from the attending guests, children, the family dog, a ring-bearing bird of prey or a mischievous, heckling uncle, you can rest assured that I have plenty of experience in keeping a hold on the reins and steering the proceedings along the right track.
